Who is this for?
Hoagie is built for media planners, marketing ops teams, and agency planners who live in Excel but need specialized tools to plan campaigns efficiently.
If you've ever toggled between a UTM spreadsheet, a media plan, and a pacing tracker — copying and pasting between all three — this add-in brings everything into one place.
The Problem
Media planning workflows are scattered across disconnected tools:
- Context-switching kills velocity — planners jump between UTM builders, budget calculators, and pacing dashboards dozens of times a day.
- Manual UTM building is error-prone — one typo in a tracking parameter means broken attribution and wasted ad spend.
- Spreadsheet formulas break — hand-built forecasting and pacing sheets are fragile, hard to maintain, and impossible to standardize across a team.
How It Works
Install the add-in, open the taskpane inside Excel, and use the three main tabs:
- UTM Builder — select campaign parameters from dropdowns, generate UTM strings, and batch-write them directly into your sheet
- Impression Forecasting — enter a budget, pick channels and a flighting pattern, and the add-in writes live Excel formulas that update as you adjust inputs
- Spend Pacing — import actuals alongside your plan and get color-coded status indicators showing delivery against target
- Channel Library — browse 12 pre-configured media channels with default CPMs to jumpstart any plan
Use Cases
Campaign Launch Prep
Use the UTM Builder to generate all tracking URLs for a new campaign in minutes. Pair it with the forecasting tab to build an impression plan that ties directly to budget.
Mid-Flight Pacing Checks
Drop in weekly actual spend data and let the pacing tab flag channels that are over- or under-delivering. Catch issues before they snowball into end-of-quarter scrambles.
Reporting & QA
Standardized UTMs mean cleaner analytics data downstream. Use Hoagie's consistent parameter format to reduce tagging errors and simplify post-campaign reporting.
